December 6: Sally O'Brien's with Abby Vail and Hollow Turtle

We’ll be at Sally O’Brien’s on 12/6/19. More about the show:

Mountain Weekend is a five-piece New England roots music band based out of Middleboro, MA. These guys capture the truth, beauty and realities of everyday life in New England. Mountain Weekend began making a name for themselves all over the South Shore of Massachusetts and then began playing venues all over northern New England and New York.

Mountain Weekend’s self-recorded debut album Autumn (2018) features beautiful harmonies that illuminate their introspective look at everyday life. As Mountain Weekend’s profile continues to grow in the region, the band is hitting the studio to record their second album. In the meantime they continue to bring energy and passion to every live show.

Hollow Turtle - Fresh of the release of their debut album ''Ten Pound Boots'', Westerly Rhode Island''s Hollow Turtle has been bringing a ruckus to the traditional sounds of folk and bluegrass music. This five-piece band features banjo, upright bass and fiddle accompanied by tightly wound vocal harmonies.

''Ten Pound Boots'' gives listeners a sense of the band''s great blend of traditional bluegrass sound with an edge. The band does list Black Sabbath as one of their influences.

Abigail Vail is widely known as one of the most talented sing songwriters in Southeastern Massachusetts. Her sweetly yet alluring vocals perfectly compliment her ability to tell fascinating stories. John Shea, the host of 95.9 WATD''s Almost Famous radio show has often touted Vail as one of the region''s best song writers.

Abby is working on recording and releasing her debut album Wandering Soul next year. Wandering Soul will give Vail''s fans the opportunity to consume her music between her live performances. The Beat described Vail''s sound thusly; “Using romantic and picturesque imagery, listening to Abigail can stir the imagination and touch the heart...a much needed combination for any songwriter musing on the human condition."
